Chapter 5 | SLEEPING BAG FIGURES

A very easy way to draw standing human figures in a highly simplified way is to wrap them in a kind of sleeping bag (left and right). Only the egg-shaped head and possibly the feet stick out. A separation between the upper body and the legs and adding arms (center) is possible, but not required.

Exercise: Try drawing a few sleeping bag figures. Make sure the head is egg-shaped and not too big or too small. You can use a dash to indicate the direction of the gaze if necessary. With small adjustments, you can alter the figures and add arms, shadows or clothing.

Sleeping bag figures are very functional because of their simplicity, for example when it comes to perspective or architecture.
