Little Sammy Sneeze is a boy who sometimes sneezes so terribly that everything and everyone in his tidy surroundings is completely thrown into disarray. In the first example, it happens in a toy store, causing complete chaos. In the second example, even the cartoon panel in which he is drawn is broken and jumbled. Little Sammy Sneeze was created and drawn in the early 20th century by cartoonist Winsor McCay, also the creator of Little Nemo. In the original comic the text in the last two frames is KA-CHOW or KAH-CHOW.

Exercise 1: The following examples each consist of two frames, both approximately 10 x 10 cm. Download and print out one or more of the examples (or redraw one if you find that easier). The left frame shows the beginning of the sneeze. Everything is still neatly in place. In the right frame it’s up to you to imagine how everything from the left drawing is jumbled. I’ve used the English ACHOO as well as KA(H)CHOW from the original comic.
Suggestion for a teachers in a primary school: print a couple of the examples and let your pupils draw the sequels. Afterwards compare the results.

EXTRA: Download and print this A4 sheet with two blank frames. Come up with the first drawing yourself, and maybe let someone else come up with the sequel.
