Little Sammy Sneeze is a boy who sometimes sneezes so terribly that everything and everyone in his tidy surroundings is completely thrown into disarray. In the first example, it happens in a toy store, causing complete chaos. In the second example, even the cartoon panel in which he is drawn is broken and jumbled. Little Sammy Sneeze was created and drawn in the early 20th century by cartoonist Winsor McCay, also the creator of the famous Little Nemo. In the original comic the text in the last two frames is always KA-CHOW or KAH-CHOW.

Exercise 1: The following examples each consist of two frames. You can print them out or trace them. The left one shows the beginning of a sneeze. Everything is still neatly in place. In the right one it’s up to you to imagine how everything from the left drawing is jumbled. Choose one or more examples. I’ve used the English ACHOO as well as KA(H)CHOW from the original comic.

EXTRA: Finally, two frames with only the face of a person sneezing on the right. You can trace this example or print it out. Write a name/word or a short text as neatly as possible in the left frame. Create chaos in the right frame with the same letters/words, because the sneeze has blown all the letters/words over. Add whatever you like.
