Chapter 3 | FIGHTING
The overlaps in the previous two chapters looked quite clear. In the following drawing by Saul Steinberg it’s definitely a mess. A couple of ladies are arguing. They wave and hit each other with their handbags and umbrellas. You can’t even clearly see how many ladies there are and who is overlapping who.
Exercise: Draw fighting creatures (people, monsters, robots, whatever) who really clump together !
In the example of a young pupil you can see very nicely how an attempt has been made to draw arguing ladies in front of and behind each other.
