Maybe someday you want to design your own clothes like the fashion designer Roberto Capucci (no capuccino). He likes wavy and fanning shapes with huge pleats. It is of course not clothing that you see every day on the street. This kind of extravagant, extraordinary clothing falls under the so-called Haute couture, a French name for a high and exclusive form of tailoring. They are garments of which only one or at most a few copies are custom made for the wearer.
Exercise 1: Try to copy one or more of Roberto Capucci’s designs
Exercise 2: Try to come up with extravagant (exceptional) clothing yourself. Remember that you can use all kinds of materials, including materials that we normally don’t encounter in clothing! Use mannequins as a basis for your fantasy design (drawn very lightly!). You don’t have to draw a head/face, arms, legs and feet and you can drape the clothes around them in all sorts of ways.
